I did not just end up in Glenorchy. I chose it.

Plenty of people are from here. I picked here. Nat and I chose to buy our first home together in Glenorchy and now live in West Moonah, raising our boys and building our life. When you choose a place, you back it.

That is what Glenorchy First means to me.

Where I come from
My story starts a long way from here, in blue collar north east Adelaide. I grew up in social housing with parents who worked extremely hard and filled our home with firm values. I watched them save, sacrifice and buy their own home. I still remember how proud they were. It taught me something I have never forgotten. Nothing worth having comes without work.

As a teenager we moved to Dad's hometown of Ulverstone in Tasmania's north west. I was sports mad then and honestly, not much has changed. Football taught me my lifelong motto, how you train is how you play. Prepare properly, show up and do the work. That motto has shaped everything since.

About

Family first
I bought my first home at 20 and became a dad young. I am a proud dad of four boys, and Nat and I have built a blended family with care. Our home is full of love for all four and keeping everyone connected takes real effort and honest communication. We have done that together, across households, with respect on all sides. Birthdays and Christmas bring all of us to the same table, that matters to me more than anything.

Family is where I learnt what leadership really is. Showing up, putting others first. Doing the unglamorous work that holds people together. West Moonah is home, and raising our boys here is the best decision Nat and I ever made.

A career built on results
My career has been built in business and communication and built on results. I have led award winning teams, won national and state awards and earned a reputation for turning plans into action. Today, I am General Manager at Harrison Agents and President of the Real Estate Institute of Tasmania and recently completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Company Directors Course.

Every day I sit at kitchen tables across this city. I hear what people hope for and what they worry about. It’s housing, it’s cost of living, it’s feeling unsafe and whether their streets are looked after. That is a privilege and a responsibility and it keeps me grounded in what actually matters to the Glenorchy people.

Serving Glenorchy
I have served as a councillor since 2021 and as your Deputy Mayor since 2024, including periods as Acting Mayor. Leadership is not new to me. I have captained teams, led boards and led businesses. But local government has taught me something deeper. Good governance means listening first, asking the hard questions and being upfront with people, even when the answer is not what they want to hear.

In 2024 I ran for Mayor and came up short. I could have walked away, instead I decided to double down. I listened harder, I learnt more, I kept showing up, in the Council chamber, at community events and on your doorstep. My framework is simple, Listen, Learn, Lead, Long Term. That result made me better, and it made this campaign
stronger.

Why I am running
My purpose has never changed, to leave every person and place better than I found them. Glenorchy First is built on three commitments.

Speaking Up With A Strong Voice.

Glenorchy deserves a Mayor who fights for this city in every room, at every table, every time.

Building A Proud Clean and Safe City.

A city that looks cared for feels cared for. Pride in place is not a slogan, it’s a standard.

Delivering Essentials Value For Everyone.

Rates are your money. Council must get the basics right and deliver real value on the services people rely on.

I live here and I bring energy, experience and a track record of making things happen. For me, leadership is not about the photo, the number of headlines, the cups of tea, being heard or being right. It is about lifting others up, opening opportunities, engaging and giving back. Leadership that shows up and gets it done.
