WHAT IF COUNCIL CAME TO YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD?

One thing I’m hearing regularly is that people want to feel more connected to their community and their neighbours.

So I’ve got an idea and I want your thoughts on it…

Once a month, Council heads out to a local suburb area. We set up in a local park, fire up the BBQ, have something for the kids, bring along some useful resources and give people a reason to come together.

No formal Council meeting, no agenda, just interacting and connecting. An opportunity to meet your neighbours, have a chat with Councillors and Council staff and raise the ideas, issues and opportunities that matter in your part of our city.

Across the year, we could visit 12 suburb areas, once a month…

•  Austins Ferry/Granton

•  Berriedale

•  Chigwell

•  Claremont

•  Collinsvale/Glenlusk

•  Goodwood/Derwent Park/Dowsing Point

•  Glenorchy

•  Lutana

•  Montrose

•  Moonah

•  Rosetta

•  West Moonah

That means once a year, Council comes to your local community.

I want Council to be connected to the neighbourhoods it represents and I want our communities to feel connected to each other.

It’s about listening, bringing people together and making it easier for you to have a say in what’s happening in your neighbourhood.
