Leading for the Future

To focus on my becoming Mayor, yesterday I chaired my final REIT Board meeting and AGM as President.

I’ve been proud to lead and creating a new Constitution, By Laws, Code of Conduct, Dispute Resolution, a new 4 year Strategic Plan and a modern suite of governance documents that give clear direction, accountability and a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Why does that matter for Glenorchy and who to vote for as Mayor? 🤔

Because good governance with a modern approach matters.

Council is a significant organisation responsible for billions of dollars of community assets, hundreds of staff and services our community relies on every day. It needs strong leadership with clear direction that keeps pace with a changing world.

I’ve just been through this process in real time. I understand what good modern governance looks like, how to lead well and importantly, how to prepare an organisation for the future.

As Mayor, I’ll bring that experience to Glenorchy.

We can’t rely on old ways of doing things simply because that’s how they’ve always been done. Council needs to be ready for the next decade, not the last one.

That’s the leadership and experience I’ll bring as your Mayor.
