SUPPORT IS EVERYTHING. ❤️
Standing outside Brewlab after another big week of campaigning, I’ve been thinking about just how much support matters.
When you put your hand up for public office, you put yourself out there. People have opinions, not everyone agrees with you and some days are tougher than others. That’s part of it.
There’s been plenty of hills, doors knocked on, long conversations, late nights, reading, rewriting and moments where I’ve wondered if I’m doing enough.
But what stands out most is the people, it’s easy to underestimate.
My family putting up with the hours away from home. Friends giving up their time to hold signboards, knock on doors and spread the word. The unexpected encouragement at Northgate, messages from old mates, people stopping for a chat and complete strangers wishing me well.
Importantly too is the people who’ve challenged me, shared their concerns and trusted me enough to tell me what they really think. I’ve learnt a lot from those conversations too.
I’ve given this campaign everything, left my other work roles because I genuinely believe in Glenorchy, its people and what our future can be.
Whatever happens, I’m grateful for everyone who’s been part of this journey.
My name might be on the ballot paper, but I certainly haven’t got here on my own.
Thank you, but we’re not done yet!
