Warmer water and happy swimmers! Theyād like a few more things to do of course š but thereās time for that.
Now we must keep Glenorchy swimming.
The repairs have bought us time, but theyāre not a long term solution. We need to act now to secure the future aquatic facility.
The current aquatic redevelopment plan would mean closing the pool again to relocate the 50m pool. I absolutely donāt want our community going through that.
I want us to look at adjusting the design and staging it, so we can build the new facility while keeping the existing 50m pool open.
Our current funding approach isnāt working. My meetings with federal ministers have reinforced my view that seeking funding stage by stage gives us the best chance of securing the support we need. We should listen to that feedback.
Our community deserves a modern aquatic centre without losing access to the pool while itās being built.
KEEP THE POOL OPEN. BUILD IN STAGES. DELIVER THE FUTURE.
