We Have to Do Better.

Phil is a grandfather who stepped in to stop an alleged crime and was injured in the process.

Phil is a brave man, but he shouldn’t have to be.

We need leaders brave enough to stand up, speak up and look for better solutions & to stop looking for excuses.

People are telling me they are seeing more theft, robberies and assaults. They’re telling me they don’t feel safe, we have to be real, we have to do better.

We can’t hide behind numbers, especially when incidents consistently go unreported and people feel unsafe going about their day. Describing these as ‘isolated incidents’ risks dismissing what our community is experiencing.

I don’t have all the answers, but I tell you what, I won’t ignore the problem. I’m standing up & speaking up. I challenge every leader, at every level of government, to do the same. Acknowledge the problem, listen to our community and work together to find and deliver better solutions.

Phil stepped in. We need leaders to step up.
