Best to be a local

I live in West Moonah and drive Main Road at 8:15am with everyone else. I stand in the same queue at the shops, I use the same parks, the same footpaths, I'm local.

Only a local can listen, learn and lead.

You learn by walking the dog past the bin that's not emptied.

You learn when your neighbour stops you because the crossover hasn't been fixed.

You learn over a coffee when someone tells you what's not working.

A local lives with every decision Council gets right and every one it gets wrong. That's leadership you can't fake.

I chose Glenorchy. I chose my street, this community and its future.

When the votes are counted, I'll still be here. Same shops, same roads, same city. Glenorchy isn't a job to me. It's home.
